Jennie HAM TEEL was my Great-Great-Grandmother.  We would have probably called her "Mama Teel" or "Grandma Teel" had I known her!

In 1880, Jennie Ham lived with her parents, Jordan and Fannie Ham, in Centreville, Bibb, Alabama.  She was 7 years old.  In the household of "Jourdon Ham" and "Fracey Ham" were the other children, Mary, William, Johnie, and Marren [Marvin].  Jennie is listed as "Jane".   [Year: 1880; Census Place: Centreville, Bibb, Alabama; Roll: 1; Family History Film: 1254001; Page: 315B; Enumeration District: 003; Image: 0639.]

1890 finds Jennie in Dekalb, Bowie County, Texas, and marrying William Perry Teel on the 22nd of September.

By 1900, she and William Perry Teel had gone to Indian Territory, OK.  They lived in Township 4, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory.  Children included Mamie, Chas (Charles), John and Elsey (Elsie).  [Year: 1900; Census Place: Township 4, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory; Roll: 1847; Enumeration District: 0125; FHL microfilm: 1241847.]

Sometime after the 1900 census, William and Jennie Teell left Oklahoma and brought their family to Fisher County, Texas.  On April 8, 1909, 36 year old Jennie Ham Teel gave birth to Bertha; and days later, on April 19, 1909 Jennie died.  Jennie is buried in the Roby Cemetery located right outside of north Roby in Fisher County, Texas.
